I received an email a couple of weeks ago that I should have written about at the time.
Bungalow
The email was sent by a man that had several difficulties including mobility problems. He has been granted Planning Permission to build a small bungalow and wanted to know whether he would have to pay VAT if he was building a property adapted to his needs.
Unfortunately, this is way beyond the scope of my knowledge! I was able to find some information suggesting that a lot of the VAT paid on any new build property can be claimed back whether or not the builder has particular needs. It would be nice to be able to give a more specific answer to this question though.
Can You Help?
If anyone has any specific information or experience of this situation, it would be fantastic if we could pass this on. Please add any comments below or, if you would prefer a little more privacy, use the Contact Us form and I will be happy to pass on your responses.
